Reading, Pa. – A resurgent Robert “Top Gun” Hight drove the Auto Club Ford Mustang past the DieHard Dodge of new Full Throttle Funny Car points leader Matt Hagan Sunday before rain and cold forced NHRA officials to suspend competition with two rounds remaining in the 27th annual Auto-Plus Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.
Weather permitting racing will continue Monday with Hight’s Ford opposing the Toyota of Jeff Arend and Bob Tasca III’s Quick Lane/Motorcraft Mustang paired with the Dodge of No. 1 qualifier Johnny Gray.
NHRA officials announced racing action will resume at 10 a.m. beginning with the Lucas Oil Series Top Alcohol Dragster category.
