The 2009 NHRA Full Throttle season has officially started but not without a little delay. After 3 months away from racing during our off season everyone was very eager to get back to the track. The weather had a different plan however.

Here we are in Pomona for the first race of the year and raring to go and it rains! In California of all places! We had been having weeks of beautiful sunny weather but of course the sun was nowhere to be seen when we needed it! We tried to blame the people on our team who were in town from cold and snowy Indianapolis saying they brought the weather with them!

It was a very strange weekend with only one qualifying session. The field was set after that and then on Sunday we got to run first round before the rain came. Two days later we finally finished the race and though we didn’t come home with a win, we started strong with a #3 qualifying finish, went to second round and are back into the groove of things and looking forward to Phoenix. Despite the unusual race schedule (and major hairdo problems from the rain! J) Pomona went well for Team Force.

My sisters also competed in their A Fuel dragsters and we had a good weekend with all 6 John Force Racing cars making the show for the first event of 2009. We’re pretty proud of that because this season is going to be tough with lots of fast cars good drivers and fierce competition. But you can count on our team to fight the fight all year long as all of us are bound and determined to win the 2009 Full Throttle Championship.

I believe my toughest competition will be my own teammates and I look forward to a safe and very exciting ’09 season and you can count on great side by side racing and an outstanding show for the fans! Happy 2009!
