Western Swing in El Monte RV
The Final Blog

I’m so sad to say that we are on our way home to California after a wonderful 3 weeks on the road in our El Monte RV. We had a really great time in our motor home instead of the usual airports and hotels that make up most of our living quarters. I have taken many pictures of some beautiful scenery through out California, Washington, Colorado and everywhere in between so I will always have these great memories as reminders of our summer on the road. The RV really became our home away from home and gave us a chance to grill each night, play with our cats during our travel days, and most importantly, to avoid the crazy traffic of leaving a racetrack after an event! Our home was just a scooter ride away!

It was a lot of fun staying down at the end of each track with all of the other racers. We got to visit, see the kids, and even played some football! During a race it is very busy and besides the usual thumbs up in the staging lanes, I don’t get a chance to catch up with a lot of my competitors. But with the RV I got to spend a little time with the Beckmans, Worsham’s daughter, Arrend’s daughter, the Wilkersons, and the Zahorsky’s from Racers For Christ Kids. After a tough day of racing, it was nice to play a little ball and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather!

As much fun as we’ve had, it will be so nice to finally be home! I miss my own bed and I miss my friends at home. Unfortunately we will only get a day to enjoy the good old OC as we head off to Norwalk for the match race. We are used to all the travel, as all racers are, however we truly enjoyed our break from the usual very busy summer schedule thanks to our El Monte RV. Even though we were on the road for work, we were also on a little road trip vacation between race towns and I couldn’t imagine a better way to spend a summer than with the hubby, the cats in an RV touring the US!
