Every month Ashley Force Hood is going to give us a brief look into the John Force Racing teams as seen from her perspective.  She will talk about interesting things she saw that relate to traveling to a race, events at a race or interesting fans or situations encountered along the way! 

Keep in mind Ashley’s schedule is normally very hectic, but she has committed to giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the wacky world of drag racing.

Happy Spring everyone! This past weekend we did not have a race so I was in California enjoying the sun one day and rain the next! Though we weren’t racing we kept busy with some fun and different projects.

First off, Ford is running a campaign to help reintroduce the Ford Fiesta to the American car market. They are running a contest where Ford fans can send in a video on why they would be a great choice to promote the 2011 Ford Fiesta. My sister Courtney, who races A Fuel Dragster and is a junior at Cal State Fullerton wanted to enter so I helped her to put together a video to submit!

I had a lot of fun working with Courtney on this project. We wanted to make a good video that was entertaining and interesting to watch and also gave a background and a peek at Courtney and her life as a race car driver, and also as a college student. She decided what she wanted to say and then the 2 of us along with Josh Miller, who runs our editing studio, sat down and hashed out a story line. We then filmed in different locations around town including our shop, Courtney’s college, and home. We included friends of hers and co workers at the shop to “act” in this short video. Courtney did a great job and came up with a really creative and fun way to show why she would be a great Ford Fiesta driver!

The other main project I worked on while away from the races was also Ford related. Some of the folks from Ford flew out from Michigan to coordinate a photo shoot with me for the Ford Racing Mustang apparel catalog, including the new Ashley Force signature items! I got to ‘model’ a lot of different clothes like t shirts, tank tops and a leather jacket. We shot photos with my Rookie of the Year pink funny car, my dad’s 1965 red restored convertible Mustang and also with my personal car, a 2008 black convertible Mustang. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of variety with where we shot so I think the photos will be pretty cool!
