Ashley’s Blog - March 9

It seems like it’s been forever since we’ve been at a race! We’ve had the past two weekends off so we’ve spent a lot of time at the office getting caught up on work there, and also getting caught up on stuff at home. I know that soon our race season is going to get hectic so right now I’m trying to get a head of the game since we won’t be home very much in the following months!

This past weekend I did something quite the opposite of what I do most weekends…I hosted a baby shower! My close friends Josh and Jennifer are having a baby at the end of April. I’ve known Jen since the 7th grade and she and I have been through all of the ups and down of life together including high school, prom, the college years and taking part in each other’s weddings! Her husband Josh works for us, and he does all of our editing and videos for John Force Racing. Since they are our neighbors we get together with them a lot for BBQ’s. When my husband Dan first came out to California he really didn’t know anyone other than our race guys who are on the road but luckily he and Josh became close friends since they are both crazy video gamers! So about once a week Jen and I sit and catch up and gossip and the guys sit in the next room playing Street Fighter! Once in a while Jen and I will join in for some Wii and it’s pretty funny to see the 4 of us in the living room playing tennis with no rackets!

The shower was a lot of fun and a chance for all of Jen’s family and friends and many of the girls from John Force Racing to get together, catch up and get excited for the new arrival! They are having a boy so every time my dad see’s Josh at work he tells him how happy he is that finally someone around here is having a boy! :) We are all super excited for them both and are counting down the days. Of course the weekend wasn’t all non race related. We puffy painted onesies and bibs at the shower and I of course did a race car themed bib with the words “The Need For Feed!” And though it might be a little while until this is possible, we can’t wait to introduce Josh and Jen’s son to drag racing! We will hopefully gain another little race fan for life! :)
