Every month Ashley Force Hood is going to give us a brief look into the John Force Racing teams as seen from her perspective.  She will talk about interesting things she saw that relate to traveling to a race, events at a race or interesting fans or situations encountered along the way!

Keep in mind Ashley’s schedule is normally very hectic, but she has committed to giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the wacky world of drag racing.

Week of Monday July 6

Happy 4th of July everyone! My husband, our cat and I drove up to Lake Tahoe to spend the weekend with his friends Justin and Sarah who flew in from Chicago and stayed with us. We had a great time at the lake and took the boat out one day, and went rafting in the Truckee River the next. My parents also drove up the following day and since my grandparents live there we had a big 4th of July BBQ complete with steaks and corn, horseshoes and fireworks over the lake at the end of the night.

It was great to relax for a weekend and catch up with friends and family that we don’t get to see very often. It got us recharged and ready to hit the western swing. The next few weeks will be very intense. We will be staying on the road in an El Monte RV that we rented and traveling to Denver, Seattle, and Sonoma. It will be quite the adventure. Though Dan is used to life on the road as he always traveled with the race teams he worked for when he was younger, I really haven’t done that since I was a baby with my parents so it should be interesting and we’ll see how wimpy I really am!

I’m excited for the western swing and look forward to seeing all of our west coast fans out at the track! It should be a great month of racing with lots of sunshine, lots of kids and their families on summer vacation and lots of fast drag racing. Have a great week!
