Every month Ashley Force Hood is going to give us a brief look into the John Force Racing teams as seen from her perspective.  She will talk about interesting things she saw that relate to traveling to a race, events at a race or interesting fans or situations encountered along the way!

Keep in mind Ashley’s schedule is normally very hectic, but she has committed to giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the wacky world of drag racing.

This past week has been a little bit crazy! After our Reading event my dad and I went to the ESPN headquarters on Monday and then flew to Indy. We spent the whole week working out of our Brownsburg, IN shop and also tested on Wednesday. It was fun to get to spend some time with my team away from the race track too. On Wednesday night my hubby Dan and I went over to my crew chief Ron’s house and spent time with his wife Mandy and kids Warner and Ella (and the pets too of course!) My other crew chief Guido and his wife Kelly also came over so it was fun to get to catch up and relax a little bit after a pretty hectic few days. On Thursday evening it was more quality time, this time with my whole Team and a BBQ at Guido and Kelly’s house. Many of my crew guy’s wives and girlfriends came as well so it was a blast to have everyone together hanging out on the patio!

On Friday afternoon Dan and I drove up to Chicago to hang out with his parents and sister Sandra for the weekend. Sandra has been going to Army basic training in Missouri for the past few months and now gets to spend the next few weeks at home before being sent over seas for possibly a year! It was great to get to spend a little time with her as Dan and I don’t get to see her much. They are really close like my sisters and I are so I know it’s going to be tough when she heads out in October. Fortunately she’ll be coming to the Indy race with my mother-in-law Michelle for the weekend so we’ll get to spend a good 3 or 4 days with her and hopefully get her in some winner’s circle pictures at the end of the weekend!

It was a nice weekend off and now we are back in Indy and setting up our shop for our big grand opening and car show this Thursday. It is going to be a crazy week as Indy is the biggest event of the year for us but it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully we can gain back some points, try to win ourselves a race and get ready for the Countdown to begin in a few short weeks! Check out ESPN2 all weekend to see how the race is going!
